I am Charlie, from Taiwan. Since my online ID is CRE0809, most people also call me 西瑞, which is derived from the pronunciation of CRE.

In my free time, I enjoy programming, primarily using languages like PHP, JavaScript, and Node.js. I also have some knowledge of Java, Servlets & JSP. In the database domain, I have experience with MySQL, MariaDB, and ClickHouse. I typically deploy these projects on Linux, so I am quite familiar with Linux, including web servers and database servers. The Linux distributions I commonly use are Ubuntu and Debian.

I am also a network player with my own ASN and membership in several internet exchange points. I have experience with tunneling and configuring routing software like Bird, and I plan to further improve my skills in this area. I also have some knowledge of data center operations; I have a 2U server located in the Chief H.D. Building in Taipei, and I previously worked as a Data Center Technician at Google Cloud.

I enjoy documenting my life and the new things I learn on my personal blog. Most of the technologies I've mentioned above are also featured there, serving not only as my notes but also as a way to share and showcase knowledge with others.

    During my time at university, I developed a strong interest in cloud services, which motivated me to explore this field in greater depth. From that point on, I began to engage with various public cloud platforms and gained a more advanced understanding of their operations and applications. By a fortunate coincidence, my university partnered with Amazon to offer an AWS course, giving me the opportunity to participate and further enhance my knowledge of AWS technologies, while strengthening my understanding and practical skills in cloud services.

    I founded CRE Network, LLC, with a focus on deep research in the field of networking. We registered our own ASN and IP block, maintaining AS48231 on the internet. Our vision is to provide stable and reliable cloud solutions, serving both paying organizations and offering free resources to students.

  • GXO Logistics, Inc. - Google Cloud Data Center Technician TVC (2024.05 - 2024.08)
    During this time, I worked at Google Cloud as a Temporary Vendor Contractor (TVC), primarily responsible for hardware maintenance of the cloud infrastructure. When hardware issues happen, We will start closely with Full-Time Employees (FTEs) to discuss solutions and follow their instructions to complete the maintenance tasks, ensuring smooth system operations.

Community Experience

  • FiveM Game Server 無名小鎮 - Collaborating Developers
    無名小鎮 was one of the most popular FiveM servers in Taiwan at the time. When I entered this community, I began to meet many people in this field. Over time, I became involved in the development of 無名小鎮, contributing my ideas and suggestions to the team, and implementing solutions that helped with server operations and enhanced the player experience. This experience not only taught me a lot of technical knowledge but also allowed me to connect with many like-minded friends.

  • FiveM Game Server Wuming 逆行 1.0 - Network Operations and Administrator
    Wuming 逆行 is a branch of 無名小鎮, which significantly enhances the storyline. In this project, I was primarily responsible for server facilities and network maintenance. To improve the player experience, I continuously updated the hardware and software infrastructure to counter external network attacks, ensuring the server's stability and security. These efforts not only enhanced the reliability of the game but also made players feel safer and more enjoyable while playing. This experience became a valuable asset, deepening my technical maintenance skills.
